There comes a time in our lives when we are forced to see the vulnerability of our parents. It’s painful.
I’ve always viewed my dad as my knight in shining armor, ready to help me fight any battle, protect me from bad things…
Now the tables have turned. It’s now my job to protect him, care for him, and try to give him all the love he has shown me.
He’s recovering from emergency open heart surgery last night to repair a torn aorta. It’s a slow process, but he’s doing well so far. The whole family is here for him, and it’s wonderful. A loving reunion spurred by a difficult situation.
